The Chios Airport (alternatively Chios "Omiros" , Greek Κρατικός Αερολιμένας Χίου Όμηρος ; IATA code : JKH , ICAO code : LGHI ) is a national airport on the island of Chios in the eastern part of Greece near the Turkish mainland. It is located about 2 km north of Lefkonia and 4 km south of the eponymous city of Chios . The airport is operated by the Greek Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority , or HCAA for short. The airport has an approx. 1500 m long runway with the orientation 01/19. In 2015 over 190,000 passengers used the airport. The first plane to land at the airport was Olympic Airways Flight 560 (now known as Olympic Air ) from Athens.
