Sky Express is a Greek regional airline based in Heraklion and based at Heraklion Airport .
history
Sky Express was founded in 2005 by Miltiadis Tsagarakis, a former Olympic Airways pilot . Tsagarakis was chief executive officer of Olympic Airways and was u. a. Advisor to the management . He was also the captain and pilot of the Greek Prime Minister's plane .
The Sky Express fleet initially only consisted of a BAe Jetstream 3102 with the serial number 829 and the aircraft registration SX-SKY , later another one was added. This was followed by two McDonnell Douglas MD-83s and two more Jetstream 41s. The MD-83s were mostly used for summer charter operations and were soon withdrawn from the fleet.
