Alexandair was a Greek charter airline founded in 2005 and based at Heraklion Airport . She flew on a regular basis from Manchester to several Greek holiday islands.
The name of the airline was chosen based on Alexander the Great . The founder was Theodoros Kokmotos , a former pilot in the Greek Air Force . Flight operations were planned for July 2004, but the start date was not tenable due to the lack of a license .
Flight operations ceased in 2007 after the airline terminated the contract as the lessee .
