Huacareta (full name: San Pablo de Huacareta ) is a town in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
location
Huacareta is the central place of the canton Huacareta in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Huacareta in the province of Hernando Siles . Huacareta is located at an altitude of 1121 m on the left bank of the Río Parapetí and is framed by north-south mountain ranges with lush vegetation.
geography
The city lies on the western edge of the humid, sub-Andean Chaco of Bolivia. In the months of July to September there is a pronounced dry season in the Huacareta area (see Camiri climate diagram), while the months of December and January are characterized by sometimes heavy rains.
Transport network
Huacareta lies at a distance of 395 kilometers by road southeast of Sucre , the capital of the department.
From Sucre, the long unpaved road Ruta 6 leads in a south-easterly direction via the cities of Tarabuco , Zudáñez , Tomina and Padilla to Monteagudo . Coming from Padilla, six kilometers before Monteagudo, a dirt road leads south, crosses the Río Bañado and after 85 kilometers reaches Huacareta .

Due to the historical population distribution, the region has a significant proportion of Guaraní population, in the Municipio Huacareta 29.1% of the population speak the Guaraní language .
