Huang Bokai (born September 26, 1996 in Shaowu ) is a Chinese pole vaulter .
Athletic career
Huang Bokai gained his first international experience at the World Youth Championships 2013 in Donetsk , where he won the silver medal with 5.20 m. The following year he won with 5.25 m at the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei and was at the Junior World Championships in Eugene with skipped 5.45 m fifth. At the Asian Championships in 2015 in Wuhan , he won the bronze medal with 5.50 m behind his compatriot Zhang Wei and Seito Yamamoto from Japan. In 2016 he won the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha with a new championship record of 5.75 m . In the summer he took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and was eliminated there with 5.45 m in qualification . In 2019 he won the bronze medal again at the Asian Championships in Doha with 5.66 m behind the Philippine Ernest Obiena and his compatriot Zhang. He qualified for the world championships there and finished ninth there with 5.55 m in the final .
In 2018, Huang became the Chinese pole vault champion.
