Hubert Zeinar

Hubert Zeinar (born October 8, 1946 in Vienna ) is an Austrian officer ( Colonel dhmfD retired ), civil servant ( retired Ministerialrat ), military scientist and ethnologist . From 1993 to 1996 he was President of the Society for Austrian Army Studies .

Life

Zeinar was born in Vienna in 1946 and graduated from the Realgymnasium in the 19th district of Vienna ( Döbling ). He then joined the Austrian army . In 1964 he completed basic military service in the one-year volunteer company (EF-Kp) of the Aviation School Department (FISAbt) in Zeltweg in Styria . From 1965 to 1968 he attended the Theresian Military Academy (TherMilAk) in Wiener Neustadt (class “Prinz Eugen”). In 1968 the lieutenant was retired from the pilot training battalion in Hörsching near Linz. He was then used for several years as an adjutant and company commander , including as the commander of the school company of minor warfare at the Army Sports and Close Combat School (HSNS), and completed the troop commanders course. The Armed Forces also took part in the following UN operations : UNDOF , UNTSO , UNFICYP and UNIKOM .

From 1981, he studied European ethnology (folklore), archeology, history, art history and ethnology alongside his job up to his master's degree in philosophy . In 1986 he graduated with a Mag. Phil. In 1993 he was at Károly Gaál and Arnold Suppan at the University of Vienna with a thesis symbol and defensive character on banner, weapon and uniform to Dr. phil. PhD.

In 1990 he became a scientific officer in the Army History Museum (HGM) in Vienna and in 1997 he became a senior teaching officer and researcher at the National Defense Academy (LVAk) in Vienna. In 1998 he became head of division in the service / S III department in the Federal Ministry for National Defense and Sport (BMLVS) and later in the management staff (FüStb), where he was responsible for maintaining tradition. In 2007 the civil servant and officer of the higher military technical service (dhmfD) of the militia state retired ( in the rule ).

From 1993 to 1996 he was also President of the Society for Austrian Army Studies (GÖHK).

Zeinar is Philist Senior (chairman) of the old rulers of the Austrian Catholic Academic Association (Ö.kaV) Theresiana Wiener Neustadt.
