Staff (team)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Staff , also military staff ( English military staff ) includes the auxiliary organs of the leader of an association or large association . In the NATO armed forces, there is usually a breakdown into various basic command areas ( staff departments , departments or subject areas ), such as:

  • Human resources , internal management, military law, press and public relations (FGG 1),
  • Military intelligence (FGG 2),
  • Leadership , organization, training (FGG 3),
  • Logistics (FGG 4),
  • Guide service (FGG 6).

Further departments / subject areas can be added.

The term staff for military command bodies, such as general staff (G) or command staff (Fü), is derived from the marshal's staff , which military commanders used at times of closed battle orders to visually underline their orders. The term staff officer , for by the generals , the second highest rank group of officers in the armed forces and the Swiss Army , also goes to the noun stick back.

Military and law enforcement agencies

The German Bundeswehr had six command staffs (in the sense of general staffs) up to 2012:

These management staff were located in the Federal Ministry of Defense and corresponded to the civil "departments" of the ministry. They were divided into staff departments . In the course of the realignment of the Bundeswehr , these military departments were outsourced and their functions were essentially transferred to the newly established commandos of the military organizational areas.

The advisory committees of senior police officers in the German police force are also B. as the executive staff of the president, office manager, director, (riot police) department leader, etc. referred to.

Further spread of the term

In the meantime, competence, decision-making and advisory teams are referred to as “staff” or with the English term “staff” in various areas of society, especially those who work on long-term strategies or those who are supposed to cope with acute situations (see crisis team ). The composition of specialists for certain sub-aspects is typical.
