action

Hugo, the jungle animal has managed to return to his beloved jungle, but Rita the vixen misses Hugo very much, which her mother does not like at all, because she does not really like Hugo, and Rita is condemned to take care of her three little siblings while hers Mother goes looking for food. Meanwhile, new trouble is brewing for Hugo, because Konrad Cupmann, Isabella's husband from the first film, who has now loved a new one, wants to capture Hugo so that he can become a film star and earn his company Cupmann Film a lot of money. Cupmann and his henchman set a fire in the jungle, in fear of death the jungle inhabitants flee, including Hugo, who is walking into the prepared trap. The imprisoned Hugo is dropped with a parachute over the Cupmann Film Studios in Copenhagen. Hugo gets a game and bedroom specially prepared for him, but initially shows himself to be uncooperative and is put on a leash and gets nothing to eat. An animal psychologist named Sturmdrang is supposed to tame Hugo and train him for the film, but fails and is promptly fired. A bird visits Hugo and speaks to him, Hugo tells him about Rita, and the bird lady promises to inform Rita about Hugo's captivity. Hugo gets to know the snooty bitch Miss Nutsi, who was once a film star herself, she explains to Hugo what he has to do to get food and to get rid of the leash. In fact, Hugo dutifully plays his role with the nice Miss Sensuella, and gets bananas and sweets in return. Rita has now found Hugo, he is happy to see her again, but is now impressed by his film talent himself and apparently wants to stay there. Rita runs away sad and angry.

But Hugo changes his mind, and on his next film appearance he manages to escape. He meets Rita, the two hug. But Konrad Cupmann wants to catch Hugo again at any price. Hugo and Rita first escape by jumping on a train. In the country they can hide in a pig farm. Hugo tells the pigs about freedom, then they break out and take Hugo and Rita into a forest, where there is plenty of food for the pigs (dirt and worms). Meanwhile, Rita is looking for a cave to live in, and Hugo meets a squirrel. He is terribly hungry and asks the squirrel for a few nuts, but the squirrel doesn't want to share at first. When Hugo teaches the squirrel a game, Hugo lets it nibble on the nuts. Later Hugo and Rita cuddle in the abandoned badger den. When autumn comes and the leaves fall, Hugo is horrified, there is no fruit, there is an argument and Hugo and Rita separate. Konrad Cupmann, however, has come up with a terrible plan. He wants to shoot Hugo with a stun gun so that he can catch him, and he wants the guard dogs to kill Rita. Miss Sensuella is against it and is fired by Konrad Cupmann for it. The bird that knows Hugo and Rita meets Rita and talks to her, they should jump on a train that goes to the exotic countries where fruits always grow. Hugo and Rita make up and run towards the railroad tracks, but are stopped by Cupmann and the watchdogs. Miss Sensuella has now alerted the police. Hugo kicks the stun gun, a syringe comes loose and hits Cupmann in the hand, he falls into deep sleep, the watchdogs are put out of action by the pigs. Hugo and Rita jump on the moving train.

criticism

The editorial staff of the Cinema rated the film as a “cute sequel” and “funny and cute Disney competition”. However, "a few silly little songs" impaired the positive impression, possibly as a result of the synchronization.
