Hugo von Matuschka-Greiffenclau
Hugo Julius Franz Gustav Arthur Count von Matuschka, Baron von Toppolczan and Spaetgen , from 1862 also Baron von Greiffenclau , called Count Matuschka-Greiffenclau (* February 12, 1822 at Schloss Kupferberg in Kupferberg in the Giant Mountains , Lower Silesia ; † February 12, 1898 in Wiesbaden ) was a winery owner zu Vollrads and a politician.
family
He was the son of Gustav Graf von Matuschka -Toppolczan (1793-1868) and Julie Freiin von Hoverden-Plencken (1788-1849). Matuschka married on April 22, 1846 in Hirschberg (Lower Silesia) Sophia Reichsfreiin von Greiffenclau (born November 21, 1824 in Prague ; † February 3, 1909 in Wiesbaden), the daughter of Aloys Philipp Carl Freiherr von Greiffenclau zu Vollrads (1778-1825) and Elisabeth von Nostitz-Rieneck (1799–1884). Sophia was Fideikommissherrin on Vollrads in the Rheingau and from 1860 the last of her family. Therefore, on September 27, 1862 in Potsdam , Matuschka received the royal Prussian approval for the association of names and coats of arms with those of the barons of Greiffenclau .
Life
Matuschka was a royal Prussian chamberlain as well as an estate and winery owner at Vollrads (now a part of Oestrich-Winkel ), living at Vollrads Castle . From 1875 to 1886 he was chairman of the municipal parliament of the Wiesbaden administrative district . On October 24, 1879, he and Karl Lotichius (1819-1892) were appointed to the Prussian mansion for life as the first member from Nassau . He participated in the work of the house in various commissions.
