Hunrodeiche
The Hunrodeiche , seldom also called Hunrodseiche , in the Harz is an oak that is over 1000 years old near Hainfeld in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .
Geographical location
The Hunrodeiche is located in the Lower Harz in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park . In the Karstlandschaft Südharz biosphere reserve , it is located directly east of Hainfeld , a district of the town of Südharz , on the edge of the Hainfeld plateau at around 461 m above sea level. NHN on Silberbachstrasse (Hainfeld – Stolberg); The Silberbach rises as a Thyra tributary a few hundred meters southeast of the oak.

The Hunrodeiche is designated as a natural monument (ND). Around six adults are needed to embrace the mighty gnarled trunk. Until about the year 2000 the tree still had numerous green shoots; Today only the trunk and some mighty, mostly cut branches tell of the long life of the oak. The chest height is 6.65 m (2015). In November 2015, a new sessile oak was planted 20 meters away.
