The Hunsrückhöhenweg is a 166 km long hiking trail that connects the cities of Boppard and Bernkastel-Kues . The hiking trail crosses the Hunsrück twice : in the first section from the Rhine to the Nahe and in the second section from the Nahe to the Moselle . Among other things, the path leads over the Erbeskopf , which at 816 meters is the highest point in Rhineland-Palatinate . The hiking trail is currently being looked after and maintained by the Hunsrückverein eV. The hiking trail is marked with a white "H" on a green background.
Characteristics
The Hunsrückhöhenweg leads mostly over paved paths, but due to the large number of inclines to be overcome, the degree of difficulty is considered to be high. Some of the sights along the hiking trail include the vineyards along the Rhine and Moselle, the Teufelsfels natural monument , the historic old town of Herrstein and the Thonet Museum (Boppard) in Boppard.
