Iñigo Pérez Soto (born January 18, 1988 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish football player for Athletic Bilbao .

Career

Iñigo Pérez followed the path of most of Athletic's own generation: After initially playing for one season for cooperation partner CD Baskonia , he moved up to the squad of the second team in 2007. Two years later, on October 28, 2009, he made his debut in the first team under coach Joaquín Caparrós and was against Rayo Vallecano in the starting line-up. The breakthrough he did not succeed for the time being, so he was loaned to SD Huesca in the second division in the second half of the 2010/11 season .

After his return he developed more and more into a regular player under the new coach Marcelo Bielsa and was used regularly in the Europa League in particular . Iñigo Pérez reached the final with his team in this competition, but Atlético Madrid had to be defeated.

In the 2012/13 season , the player threw back a serious injury, which is why he has not been used since October 2012.
