José Arnáiz , full name José Manuel Arnáiz Díaz (born April 15, 1995 in Talavera de la Reina ), is a Spanish football player .

Career

Beginnings

Arnáiz began playing football at UD Talavera and made his debut in the first team in the third-rate Segunda División B in early 2013 at the age of 18 . For the 2013/14 season he moved to Real Valladolid and was initially used there in the A-youth . For the 2014/15 season Arnáiz moved up to the second team and came to eight games in Segunda División B, in which he scored two goals. On November 7, 2015, he was first used in the first team in the second-rate Segunda División , for which he played a total of - in addition to 31 appearances in the second team (eleven goals) - five times. In the 2016/17 season , Arnáiz prevailed in the first team and was used in 35 league appearances in which he scored twelve goals.

FC Barcelona

On August 28, 2017, Arnáiz moved to the second team of FC Barcelona . He received a three-year contract until June 30, 2020 with an option for two more years. His release clause is 20 million euros and, after pulling the option, 40 million euros. After scoring four goals in eight games in the Segunda División, Arnáiz made his debut on October 24, 2017 in a 3-0 away win against Real Murcia in the Copa del Rey under Ernesto Valverde in the first team, where he was in the 56th minute of the game that scored 3-0. With two more cup goals in the two subsequent games in the second leg against Real Murcia and against Celta Vigo , Arnáiz set a record in the history of FC Barcelona at the beginning of January 2018, as he scored one goal each with his first three shots on goal for the first team. On January 7, 2018 Arnáiz finally made his debut in the Primera División when he came on for Sergi Roberto in the 85th minute of the 3-0 win against the UD Levante .

CD Leganés

For the 2018/19 season, Arnáiz switched to CD Leganés for a transfer fee of five million euros, which can increase by 500,000 euros . FC Barcelona secured a buyback option. Arnáiz signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2023.
