Gerard Gumbau Garriga (born December 18, 1994 in Campllong ) is a Spanish football player who is under contract with CD Leganés .

Club career

Gumbau started his career in the youth department of FC Girona , where he played through the youth teams until 2013. In the 2012/13 season he was allowed to make his debut for the second team of FC Girona in the. In the following season he was an integral part of the second team. Before moving to FC Barcelona , he had played 32 games and scored 7 goals for FC Girona B in the league.

On July 1, 2014 Gumbau signed a three-year contract with FC Barcelona and was allowed to make his debut for FC Barcelona B on August 23, 2014 in the 2-0 defeat on the first matchday against CA Osasuna . Gumbau scored his first goal on September 7th in a 4-1 win over Real Zaragoza , when he hit with a header to make it 3-1.

On January 15, 2015 Gumbau played for the first team for the first time in the 4-0 away win against FC Elche in the second leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 . On September 20, 2015, he made his debut in the Primera División when he came on for Sergio Busquets in the 63rd minute of the 4-1 win over UD Levante . In December 2015, Gumbau was part of the squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan; he himself remained without commitment.

For the 2017/18 season Gumbau switched to CD Leganés .
