Career

society

Pervis Estupiñán, born in Esmeraldas , comes from the youth department of the traditional Ecuadorian club LDU Quito , which he joined in 2011. The left full-back was promoted to the first team for the 2015 season . On February 1, 2015 (1st matchday) he made his debut in a 1-0 home win against city rivals CD El Nacional in the top Ecuadorian league . When he was not released through international secondments, the young Estupiñán was always in the starting lineup in his first season and played a total of 32 league games. Before he switched, he played eight league games in the following season, 2016.

On July 29, 2016, the English first division club Watford FC secured the services of the talented Ecuadorian. On the same day he switched to the Spanish Primera División on loan to the sister club FC Granada . There he was assigned to the reserve team, which in the third-tier Segunda División B played. He made his debut for Granada B on August 28, 2016 (2nd matchday) in a 3-0 away win against CD El Ejido . He scored his first goal on October 30 (11th matchday) in a 2-1 home defeat by Real Jaén . He quickly developed into a regular in the reserve and was also allowed to train in the first team in the late phase of the 2016/17 season . On April 5, 2017 (30th match day) he made his debut in the 0-0 draw against Deportivo La Coruña in the top Spanish division. He played another league game for the first team and returned to Watford at the end of the season.

On July 17, 2017, he moved to the Spanish second division UD Almería on loan for the entire 2017/18 season . He made his debut on August 20, 2017 (1st matchday) in a 1-0 away win against Gimnàstic de Tarragona , when he came on for Pablo Caballero in the 75th minute of the game . After a changeable first few months, which were characterized by injury concerns, he established himself in the starting line-up of head coach Lucas Alcaraz in mid-February 2018 . He kept this regular place under his successor Fran Fernández , under whom the relegation was only prevented because of a better record against the tied team Cultural Leonesa . Estupiñán has played 26 league games this season in which he was able to prepare two goals.

Pervis Estupiñán returned to the second highest Spanish league for the next season 2018/19 and joined RCD Mallorca for a year on loan . After he was not taken into account at the beginning of the season, he made his debut on September 29, 2018 (7th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against CD Lugo , when he came on for Salva Ruiz in the closing stages . He again missed many games in the first half of the season due to injury, so he scored his first goal on December 21 (19th matchday) in a 2-0 home win against Gimnàstic de Tarragona in only his fourth league appearance. As a result, however, he established himself in the starting line-up and returned to it at the end of the season after a one-month injury break. With the Bermellones he made it to the Primera División via the playoffs. He was used in 23 league games this season, in which he scored three goals and made two assists.

For the next 2019/20 season, Pervis Estupiñán moved to first division promoted CA Osasuna for two years . He made his debut in the Gorritxoak jersey on August 17, 2019 (1st matchday) in a 1-0 away win against CD Leganés . He quickly established himself in the starting line-up and managed to stay fit for the first time throughout the first half of the season. In this he also scored his first goal of the season on October 27, 2019 (10th matchday) in a 3-1 home win against Valencia CF. He played a total of 36 league games this season, in which he scored one goal and six assists.

National team

With the Ecuadorian U17 national team , Pervis Estupiñán took part in both the U17 South American Championship in Paraguay and the U17 World Championship in Chile in 2015 . He was an absolute regular at both tournaments, scored three goals in a total of 13 appearances and impressed with the selection both times. At the South American Championships, the excellent third place was achieved, which only authorized the selection to participate in the World Cup. There they advanced to the quarter-finals.

Two years later he reached second place with the U20 at the U20 South American Championship 2017 in his own country, which allowed him to take part in the U20 World Championship 2017 in South Korea . In this tournament, Estupiñán played all four games in which the full-back scored four goals. At the World Cup, he retired as a regular with the selection in the group stage.

On October 13, 2019, Estupiñán made his debut in a 6-1 friendly defeat against Argentina in the Ecuadorian senior team .
