IC 4474 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 422 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 75,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy IC 4475 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 28, 1903 .
