I Am the Night is an American television series in six parts based on an idea and the script by Sam Sheridan , based on the true crime book One Day She'll Darken: The Mysterious Beginnings of Fauna Hodel by Fauna Hodel. The leading roles are played by India Eisley and Chris Pine . The first broadcast in the US began on TNT on January 28, 2019. In Germany, the broadcast started on February 28, 2019 on TNT Serie .

The series is set in Nevada and California in the 1960s . The young Fauna Hodel discovers that she has been adopted. She tries to discover the reasons for this with the help of the worn-out newspaper reporter Jay Singletary and becomes entangled in the murder case of Elizabeth Short , who achieved tragic fame as the so-called Black Dahlia .

reception
The FAZ praised the acting achievements of Eisley and Pine: "You want to watch these characters how they make their way through a corrupt, racist and perverted America of the sixties". The plot, on the other hand, which “Sheridan picks up from all kinds of rumors about the fall of the dahlia”, would not be very captivating.
