I nipoti di Zorro is a 1968 parody of the Zorro films that was not shown in German-speaking countries. It is one of the more than 120 grotesque comedies that the comedians Franco & Ciccio shot together.

action

Franco and Ciccio La Vacca, cousins from Sicily, come to California to look for gold. They do not know that in this area the notorious Zorro, hero of the poor and innocent, performs his actions; They make his acquaintance very quickly when they burst into a liberation campaign that lets them come to their uncle Don Diego de la Vega with a "Z" on their back. His son Rafael is actually behind the mask of Zorro. When he notices that the two of them have seen his Zorro clothes in his room, he gives them money to disappear, which they immediately lose to two thieves. They receive money again, which Zorro takes from the stolen treasure of the judge who dominates the area, and they go on a hunt for gold - in the immediate vicinity of Zorro's hiding place.

Meanwhile, Zorro has promised a meeting to the pretty Carmencita, who adores him, who neither suspects that her fiancé Rafael is behind the masquerade nor that her maid divulged the meeting. Since the two Sicilians also know about the meeting, they dress up as Zorro to see Carmencita. She finally faces three Zorros; the soldiers are also confused and take Franco and Ciccio prisoner. Shortly before the gallows they are freed from the real Zorro; the judge's hustle and bustle is put to an end and Carmencita is happy with Rafael / Zorro. The cousins get a lot of money to go as far away as possible. The two thieves steal it again.

criticism
