Igor Kuzmin

Igor Kuzmin (born November 23, 1982 in Narva ) is an Estonian rower .

Sporting successes

Kuzmin's first international appearance was at the Junior World Championships in Zagreb in 2000 . He took twelfth place in the one . In 2002 he started in the Estonian quadruple at the World Championships in Seville . The Estonian team - made up of Silver Sonntak , Andrei Silin , Tõnu Endrekson , Igor Kuzmin - won the B final and ended up in seventh place. At the 2003 World Rowing Championships he competed with Andrei Jämsä in a double scull. The duo fought for ninth place. In the following year he switched back to the double scull, with which he was able to take second place at the World Cup in Oberschleißheim . At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , however, they only reached the B final and finished ninth. After he was only able to achieve moderate success in the single and double sculls for the following two years, he returned to the double sculls at the 2006 World Rowing Championships in Eton . Together with Tõnu Endrekson, Allar Raja and Andrei Jämsä, he won his first international medal with the bronze medal. At the 2007 World Rowing Championships and the European Championships, he finished eighth and fifth with the Estonian double scull. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , the Estonian boat with Igor Kuzmin, Vladimir Latin , Allar Raja and Kaspar Taimsoo came in ninth.
