Ihrowyzja (Ukrainian Ігровиця ; Russian Игровица / Igrowiza , Polish Ihrowica or older Ihrowice ) is a village in the Ternopil Raion of Oblast Ternopil in western Ukraine about 19 kilometers north of the Oblasthauptstadt Ternopil on the river Ihra located (Ігра).
On July 27, 2018, the village became part of the newly founded rural community of Bila (Білецька сільська громада / Bilezka silska hromada ), until then it formed the district council of the same name.
The place name is derived from the Ruthenian word ihrć , which means something like wind.
The place originated in the 16th century and was initially in the Ruthenian Voivodeship as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland . From 1772 to 1918 it belonged to the Austrian Galicia under its Polish name Igrowiza and from 1854 to 1867 it was the seat of a district administration , after which it was added to the Tarnopol district.
After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland (in the Tarnopol Voivodeship ), was briefly occupied by the Soviet Union during World War II and then by Germany from 1941 to 1944 , here the place was incorporated into the Galicia district.
After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
