Chiyoda ( Jap. 千代田町 , - machi ) is a town in the district of Ora ( 邑楽郡, , -gun ) in Gunma Prefecture on the Japanese island of Honshu .
geography
Chiyoda is located to the west of Gunma Prefecture and extends north along a bend in the Tone River , on the other side of which is Saitama Prefecture .
In the northwest the municipality borders on Ōizumi , in the north on Ōra , in the northeast on Tatebayashi, in the east on Meiwa and on the other side of the river in the southeast on Hanyū , and in the south on Kumagaya .
history
The municipality of Chiyoda emerged on March 31, 1955 from the union of the villages ( mura ) Tominaga ( 富 永 村 , -mura ), Eiraku ( 永 楽 村 , -mura ) and Nagae ( 長柄 村 , -mura ). On September 30, 1956, the Nagae area was separated again and Nakashima (now Ōra ) was added.
On April 1, 1982, Chiyoda Village was declared a city ( machi ).
traffic
Chiyoda is not connected via national roads or the national rail network. However, the community is accessible via a few prefecture roads, as well as a ferry service from Kumagaya on the other side of the Tone.
education
Be in Chiyoda elementary schools Chiyoda-West ( 千代田町立西小学校 , Chiyoda-chōritsu Nishi shōgakkō ) and Chiyoda-Ost ( 千代田町立東小学校 , Chiyoda-chōritsu Higashi shōgakkō ), as well as the middle school Chiyoda ( 千代田町立千代田中学校 , Chiyoda chōritsu Chiyoda chūgakkō ). There is no secondary school equivalent to upper secondary school in Chiyoda.
