Gabriel Trifu (born April 14, 1975 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian tennis player .

Career

Trifu started his professional career in 1994. Without a doubt, he achieved his greatest successes in doubles and won a total of 14 doubles titles on the second-rate Challenger Tour in his career. He was also successful in individual tournaments. He was also able to win a tournament on the ATP Tour : In his native Bucharest he won alongside Andrei Pavel . His last professional match he played in July 2005 together with his doubles partner Victor Hănescu at the tournament in Amersfoort .

In Grand Slam tournaments, he reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon in 1999 and 2002 .

Trifu played between 1997 and 2005 in a total of 15 matches for the Romanian Davis Cup team . Both in singles with 0: 4 and in doubles with 7: 8, his result balance is negative.
