Ilona Pfeiffer

Ilona Pfeiffer (born November 4, 1975 in Pinsk , Belarusian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a German long-distance runner .

Born in Belarus, she studied at the Minsk Sports Academy , where she was trained as a sports teacher and trainer and also passed an examination to become a sports masseuse . In 1999 she came to Germany, settled in Dissen in the Teutoburg Forest , got married and had two children.

She only started running in 2004. In 2005 she ran her first marathon : the Ruhr Marathon took 3:31:41 h. Five months later she came second in the Bremen Marathon in 3:03:21 h, and shortly afterwards she set a course record in the underground marathon in Sondershausen with 3:44:47 h. In 2006 she won the Steinfurt Marathon in 3:00:47 h and was tenth in the Munich Marathon in 2:55:12 h, which also meant seventh place in the German Championships.

In 2007 she repeated her victory in Steinfurt-Marathon with a time of 2:50:30 hours, as the overall winner of the was Gutenberg Marathon German Marathon Champion in 2:46:15 hours and finished the Essen Marathon around the Baldeneysee second place in 2:48:42 h.

In 2008 she won the GutsMuths Rennsteig run on the half marathon course , and in 2009 she improved her personal record to 2:44:58 h as the winner of the Enschede Marathon .
