In the intoxication of colors and love (original title: 취화선 , Chihwaseon ) is a South Korean film by Im Kwon-taek . The film premiered on May 10, 2002 in South Korea. On February 10, 2006 , the film was shown for the first time on German television on ARTE .

The life of the painter genius Jang Seung-eop is told in retrospect . From being a street kid, he became the most sought-after artist in his country. He even made it to the court of the sovereign. But his never-ending search for artistic satisfaction slowly ruins him.
