The nature reserve Im Woog von Hainstadt (NSG identification 1438019) is located in the Offenbach district in Hesse . It covers around 14 hectares of forest, which is located in the urban area of Hainstadt .

Area description

The nature reserve is located in the northwest of Hainstadt. In the west it borders on the Alte Fasanerie wildlife park. The Hainstadt woog consists of wet grassland, reed beds, rough meadows, orchards, fallow land and deciduous forest provides a feeding habitat for birds of prey: buzzard, hawk, kestrel, black kite and red kite, as well as little owl, long-eared owl and tawny owl. Unfortunately, broods of little owls, reversible necks and red-backed red-backed owls that have been found in the NSG for years have not been confirmed recently. The oriole is still a regular breeding bird.

Protection purpose

The purpose of the protection is to preserve and secure a particularly species and structure-rich part of a former Main Arm with small-scale juxtaposition of wet grassland, deciduous forest, orchards and fallow areas as a habitat for numerous endangered animal and plant species in the natural area of ​​the Eastern Sub-Maine Plain.
