The Obermannslache nature reserve near Froschhausen (NSG identification 1438023) is located in the Offenbach district in Hesse . It covers around 20.84 hectares of forest in the urban area of Seligenstadt .

Area description

The nature reserve is east of Froschhausen . In the eastern part of the oak-hornbeam forest there is a depression (pool) that fills with water in winter. An intact alder forest grows here, with stately white elms growing on the periphery.

Protection purpose

The purpose of the protection is to preserve and develop a part of the Holocene Main floodplain that is particularly rich in species and structure with semi-natural deciduous forests, valuable wet grassland, reeds and sedge beds as a habitat for numerous endangered animal and plant species.
