history

Southeast of Imbath there are remains of a Viereckschanze the Celts , iron slag was found in the mid-1930s.

The place on the edge of the border between Old Bavaria and the Upper Palatinate was first mentioned in a document in 822, when Abbot Richbald and his base Drotlinde donated their property to “Yubinpah” to the Regensburg monastery of St. Emmeram . In a document from 865, Ambricho, Abbot Bishop of Regensburg, exchanges goods for "Ipah" with noble Otmar; soon the monastery has extensive property in the village. In documents from 1128 and 1132 the place is called "Inbuint". The place also appears as "Inbiunt" in 1353, at that time it still belonged to the monastery property of St. Emmeram in Regensburg. In 1356 the place is called "Inbeunt" in a deed of donation from Chunrat Choll in favor of the Ingolstadt hospital. In the course of time there were several manors in the place; During the secularization of 1803, five ecclesiastical and three secular landlords could be identified.

In terms of administration, Imbath has undergone major changes in the course of its history: it belonged to the Kelsgau , the Counts of Ritenburg, to the Hirschberg district court , (since the middle of the 15th century) to the Abensberg nursing court and (since the end of the 18th century) Altmannstein and from 1803 to the district court of Riedenburg . In 1838 Imbath was considered a small but prosperous church village "with very good farming". In 1926 the place came to Mindelstetten in terms of church, school and administration.

In 1983 the agriculturally oriented town with 74 inhabitants consisted of five full-time businesses, one part-time business, one craft business and a riding hall; Hop cultivation is cultivated. There is a country inn with a hotel. In 1964 land consolidation was carried out.
