In Your Dreams is an Australian - German youth series . The first season is subtitled Summer of Your Life and the second season is called Summer Without Parents (Original Title: In Your Dreams ). The series was produced in 2012 by the production company Southern Star Group in cooperation with Endemol Worldwide and the NDR. The series revolves around the Australian twins Sam and Ben, who spend the summer months in a castle in Germany and have to master all kinds of situations. The first broadcast took place on October 29, 2013 on KiKA , while the Australian broadcast took place on the digital channel 7Two .

Sam and Ben Hazelton are not supposed to spend the summer in Sydney , Australia , but in Europe, as their parents are moving to Switzerland because their father has received a research assignment. At first the two are not very enthusiastic about the idea. But Sam and Ben have to go to distant noble relatives at a castle in Lower Saxony, which belongs to Philipp von Hasenburg. The castle, however, is anything but in good shape and the castle operations with café and guided tours are no longer so good. There is no money for renovations. With Philipp, his daughter Lili and the intern Markus, the twins try everything to breathe new life into the castle. This is not as easy as expected, because you have to fight against the scheming Uncle Hermann, who leaves no intrigue to get to the castle.

Production of the series was announced in June 2012. A first season with 26 episodes was ordered. The shooting took place on 80 days between June 25th and October 31st, 2012. The film was shot at Marienburg Castle near Hanover, in Hanover , in Melsungen, Spangenberg and Hamburg . Almost 70 percent of the series was shot in Germany. Only a few scenes were made in Sydney .
For the second season, the shooting took place again in 2014 in Sydney (February to April), in Hamburg and Lower Saxony (April to June) and in Melsungen (July to August). The German broadcast began on September 7, 2015 on KiKA.
