Indium (III) telluride is an inorganic chemical compound of indium from the group of tellurides .
Extraction and presentation
Indium (III) telluride can be obtained by reacting indium with tellurium .

Indium (III) telluride is a black, hard, brittle solid. Two forms with cubic crystal structures and the space group F 4 3 m (space group no. 216) are known of this. The low temperature form changes to the high temperature form at 610 ° C.
Indium (III) telluride in its liquid phase is one of the few liquids that have a density anomaly similar to that of water. The density maximum is around 867 ° C, with domains forming in the liquid, the densities of which can differ by less than 5% (in the range 900–1500 K). The domains differ in whether they have a crystal structure or not. They are about 11 Å in diameter and contain about 30 atoms.
