Indy Groothuizen (born July 22, 1996 in Alkmaar ) is a Dutch football goalkeeper . He is under contract with ADO Den Haag and is a young Dutch national player.

Career

Indy Groothuizen started playing football at AFC '34 and moved to Ajax Amsterdam's youth academy in 2008 . After playing a total of 14 games for the second team "Jong Ajax" in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, Groothuizen was loaned to FC Nordsjælland to Denmark in August 2016 . On September 21, 2016, he played his first game in a top division on the tenth match day of the 2016/17 Superliga season . Due to an injury, he only completed twelve missions and finished fifth with the club in the championship round. At the end of August 2017, Groothuizen switched to ADO Den Haag . After he was not used in any game up to and including the 29th match day, he now completed every game until the end of the season and took seventh place in the table with the club; in the following play-offs to qualify for the Europa League ADO Den Haag was eliminated in the first round against Vitesse Arnheim . In August 2018, Groothuizen was chosen as the club's new goalkeeper.

National team

Groothuizen played ten games for the Dutch U-17 national team and at least one game for the Dutch U-18s . On November 11, 2015 he scored his first goal for the U-20 team in a 2-2 test match in Znojmo against the Czech Republic shortly before the end with the goal of the final score . In total, Groothuizen came to six missions for this age group. On October 12, 2018, he played for the first time for the Dutch U-21 national team in the 3-0 win in the European Championship qualifier against Latvia in Riga .
