Inferia is a Finnish deathgrind and porngrind band from Lahti that was formed in 1989.

history

The band was formed in 1989. In the following year, a first demo under the name Funerealm followed. On the next demo Decursus Morbi , which was created in 1991, the cast consists of the singer, guitarist and bassist Jani Huttunen, the guitarist Jani Nikkilä and the drummer Tero Järvinen. The next demo was released in 1992 under the name Curible Orpheus . Heikki Isosipilä is represented as session bass player. In 1993 the singer Reijo Kortesniemi and the bassist Harri Kujala joined for further recordings. The latter was already replaced by Petri Malinen in October, whereupon the EP Spawned at the Dawn was released that same year . In 1995 they went on tour through Poland , after which the band signed a recording contract with the German label Fireline Records , which in 1995 released their debut album Masterpiece . In 1998, Kortesniemi and Malinen left the cast. In the same year the second album Parental Advisory was released . In August 2001 bassist Olli Herranen joined them. Towards the end of the year the line-up changed again with the departure of the drummer Järvinen, who was replaced a short time later by Taito Soramäki. In March 2002, Jarno Dahl joined as the new singer. In the same year the group took part in the Obscene Extreme and it was released with Live at Jyväskylä 2002, a first live album. In 2004 the line-up consisted of singer and guitarist Jani Huttunen, guitarist Jarmo Hyytiä, bassist Juha Merilaakso and drummer Taito Soramäki. In the same year the EP Explosive Copulation was released . The next album was released in 2005 under the name Release for Burial Orgies . In the same year the band could be seen again on the Obscene Extreme. The next album followed in 2007, entitled Fucking Is a Great Way to Get to Know New People . The following year Inferia could be seen at the Fuck the Commerce in Germany. For the 20th anniversary of the band, she played in Argentina in 2009 . In the same year, the group was featured in a television report about Finnish extreme metal bands who also perform abroad, which was broadcast on Finnish TV. In 2010 the band took part in Death Feast Open Air and the next album called No Sperm Shall Be Spared was released. In 2012 the group performed at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival . The next album was named Fistament and was published in 2014. A third participation in the Obscene Extreme is planned for 2017. In their career, the band has also appeared twice in Russia at the PetroGrind Festival and in Sweden at the Gothenburg Deathfest . There were also tours through the Baltic States as well as Finland, Latvia , Switzerland and Germany. So far, Inferia has performed with Sentenced , Necropsy , Demigod , Massacre , Agathocles , Rotten Sound , Sinister , Pungent Stench Cock and Ball Torture , Mucopus and Skullhog , among others .

style

Zombie from metalglory.de wrote in his review of Explosive Copulation that Inferia is one of the oldest Porngrind bands. The music sounds partly strongly influenced by that of Cock and Ball Torture, whereby the group does not yet come close to bands like Lividity . Chris from necroslaughter.de counted the group in the review of No Sperm Shall Be Spared as "the oldest pervert grinders in Finland". The album moves between Death Metal and Grindcore , while the lyrics are of a pornographic nature. The sound carrier shows influences of traditional and brutal Death Metal , Napalm Death and Isacaarum . Above all, the blast beats would always remind us strongly of Czech genre colleagues. With variable riffs , vocal styles, song lengths and changes in tempo, the band ensures variety in the songs.
