Inge Flimm

Inge Flimm (born September 11, 1938 ; † December 24, 2017 in Hollersbach im Pinzgau ; born Inge Jansen ) was a German theater director and actress .

Life

She married after graduating from high school and had five children. After the divorce in 1966, she attended drama school in Cologne . In 1968 she became an assistant director at the Münchner Kammerspiele . In 1969 she married the director Jürgen Flimm . The marriage ended in divorce. Their son died early.

In 1975 she resumed her professional activity and was assistant director at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. In 1976/77 she staged for the first time in the painting hall of the Schauspielhaus and at the Kammerspiele in Frankfurt am Main .

This was followed by Garcia Lorca's Bernarda Alba's house in Basel in 1978 . In 1979 she staged the spectacle Wuppertal , among others, Leonce and Lena and The Lady from the Sea . Fraulein Julie followed in Nuremberg in 1981 and Minna von Barnhelm in 1982 . Her production of Botho Strauss ' Kalldewey, Farce in the Werkraum of the Münchner Kammerspiele was canceled in 1983 shortly before the premiere due to differences of opinion with the artistic director.

Other directorial work included Ghosts at the State Theater in Oldenburg and in 1987 Amphitryon at the Zurich Theater . From 1993 to 1996 Flimm was acting director at the Rostock Volkstheater . Then she worked again as a freelance director, including in 1998 in Kiel with Noréns Nacht, Mother of the Day .

In 2007 Flimm, who last lived in Hollersbach im Pinzgau and died there in 2017 at the age of 79, staged the play Visiting Time by Felix Mitterer at the Cinétheatro in Neukirchen am Großvenediger with amateur actors .
