Life

Ingke Brodersen - sister of the literary scholar Momme Brodersen - comes from Barmstedt in Schleswig-Holstein . She then worked for many years as a lecturer and publisher for political books at Rowohlt Verlag . Brodersen headed Rowohlt-Berlin Verlag, founded in 1990, until 2000.

With Brodersen and Rüdiger Dammann as editors-in-chief, the multilingual culture magazine Kafka was launched in early 2001, initially with a quarterly publication. According to his own approach of being a cultural magazine for the center of Europe and creating a corresponding discussion forum, Kafka devoted himself in his editions in the Czech , Slovak , Polish , Hungarian and German languages to fundamental topics such as home, religion, the importance of education, the shaping of Europe or conflicts in the coexistence of generations.

Kafka was published and distributed free of charge by the Goethe-Institut Inter Nationes . The last issue appeared in autumn 2005, however, as the cultural magazine was discontinued in order to finance expanded online projects of the Goethe Institute.

In 2006, Brodersen and Richard Spies took over the management of the newly founded non-fiction book publisher Booklett.Brodersen & Company GmbH, which is based in Berlin. The shareholders Ingke Brodersen, Rüdiger Dammann and Peter Mathews hold half of the share capital . The other half is borne by Klett Lern und Wissen GmbH.

In the book Ein Erdbeere für Hitler , which Ingke Brodersen published together with Carola Stern , the theme of National Socialism is child-friendly - from its rise to resistance and liberation from fascism .
