Ingrid Felipe Saint Hilaire (* 22. August 1978 in Hall in Tirol as Ingrid Walpoth ) is an Austrian politician ( The Greens ) and since May 24, 2013 second national Vice-Minister in Tirol provincial government Platter II or Platter III . She was state spokeswoman for the Greens in Tyrol and the top candidate for the Tyrolean Greens in the state elections in Tyrol in 2018 .

From June 26, 2017 to October 17, 2017, she was federal spokeswoman for the Federal Green Party.

Life

Ingrid Felipe grew up in Rum and attended elementary school there from 1984 to 1988. From 1988 to 1992 she attended the secondary school Kettenbrücke Innsbruck. In 1997 she graduated from the commercial academy in Innsbruck. Ingrid Felipe then began studying business administration at the University of Innsbruck . In addition, she was involved in handball in Innsbruck, initially as an active player, later as a functionary and project manager for various events. From 1994, she also worked as a waitress and catering assistant and since 2002 as a management assistant in catering establishments and continued this activity after their graduation to Magistra continued in the year of 2003. From 2006 to 2012 Ingrid Felipe worked as an office manager in the Parson architecture firm.

Felipe's political career was already apparent during her school days. At elementary school age, she and her sister ensured that they were allowed to minister as girls in the church in their parish of Rum . In 1994 and 1995 she was elected head of the commercial academy and commercial school Innsbruck, and in 1995 she was also the regional student representative for vocational colleges in Tyrol.

She began her career in party politics in 2005 as financial advisor to the Green Tyrol, which she held until January 2010. In addition, she was the substitute delegate of the Extended Federal Board (EBV) of the Greens from 2007 to 2009. From 2009 to 2013 Ingrid Felipe was state spokeswoman for the Green Alternative Tyrol and since March 13, 2010 also a councilor in Rum . In February 2009, June 2010 and March 2012 she was, among other things, the representation of the regional representatives Christine Baur and Maria Scheiber in sessions of the Tyrolean state parliament .

Ingrid Felipe first attracted widespread public attention in May 2011 with her protest against the expulsion of Lamin Jaithe, then 20 years old, who had been living in Tyrol for years.

On May 1, 2012, she moved into the state parliament for the outgoing member of the state parliament, Maria Scheiber .

On May 24, 2013 she was elected by the Tyrolean state parliament as regional councilor for the following departments:

  • Environmental and climate protection (without prejudice to the responsibility of the other members of the state governments in the respective subject areas); Environmental audits;
  • Natural reserve; Mountain rescue;
  • Waste management; all legal proceedings in connection with waste disposal facilities; Chemicals law;

In addition, she was elected 2nd Deputy Governor, making her the first member of the Tyrolean Greens and the second woman in this office.

On February 19, 2016, she was elected deputy party leader of the Austrian Greens in the extended federal executive committee; she thus became the successor of Maria Vassilakou , who had previously resigned.

After the announcement of the resignation of party leader Eva Glawischnig on May 18, 2017, Felipe was officially elected Glawischnig's successor with 93.7% of the votes at the extraordinary federal congress in Linz on June 25, 2017. At the same time, Ulrike Lunacek was elected as the top candidate for the National Council election in Austria 2017 with 96.5%.

After the National Council election , which ended in October 2017 with her party being voted out of parliament, Felipe resigned two days later from her position as - shortest serving - federal chairman of the Greens. When asked about the causes of the massive loss of votes: “Basically, our know-it-all is a problem. At the same time we have to learn again to endure contradictions. "

Ingrid Felipe is divorced and lives in Rum with her son .
