Innes Sibun (* 1968 in Bath , England ) is a British blues guitarist .

biography

Innes Sibun started playing the guitar at age 12 after listening to BB King . As a teenager he played in various bands that were active in styles as diverse as punk , reggae , rock , folk and jazz .

His first own band "Blues Explosion" recorded the album That's What The Blues Can Do in 1991 , produced by Mike Vernon . The reviews have been positive and the band has toured the UK and Europe. They performed at all the major blues festivals on the island and with many greats of the blues, including George "Wild Child" Butler , Johnny Adams , Joe Louis Walker , Ronnie Earl , Walter Trout and many more.

In 1993 Innes Sibun accompanied Robert Plant on his "Fate of Nations" tour, which took him to the USA , South America and Europe. In the States, Sibun was able to jam with some of his idols , such as Buddy Guy and James Cotton . Sibun can be heard with Plant on his albums Sixty Six to Timbuktu (2003) and Nine Lives (compilation, 2006).

Sibun recorded a number of albums with a new band: Superstitious (1995), Honey Pot (1996), Stardust (1997), After Dark Live (1998), although the line-up changed several times. During this time Sibun performed with Peter Green , Roger Chapman and Chris Farlowe, among others . After the album East Monroe (2001) and many years on tour, the band split up to take a break.

In 2004 Sibun put together a new band with whom he performed at blues festivals and in 2005 released the album Farmhouse Blues . In 2007 Tail Dragger followed , which was particularly successful in Germany. In 2008 Innes Sibun toured with Johnny Winter , Taj Mahal , Steve Cropper and Al Kooper . In 2009 he released the solo album Snake Wine . The live album The Box Set was released in 2010, and Can't Slow Down - Live at the Estrado in 2012 .

In 2011 Sibun was invited to play a concert in New York to commemorate the album Notes from San Francisco , which Rory Gallagher recorded in the late 1970s. He met Sari Schorr , who then invited him to Mike Vernon in 2016, where she was recording her first album A Force of Nature . He played the guitar on most of the tracks on the album and then went on tour with Sari Schorr under the band name "The Engine Room".
