Innocent Hilarion Lotocky

Innocent Hilarion Lotocky OSBM (born November 3, 1915 in Stari Petlykiwzi , Austria-Hungary , today Ternopil Oblast , Ukraine ; † July 4, 2013 in Chicago , USA ) was Bishop of Saint Nicolas of Chicago of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the United States States .

Life

Innocent Hilarion Lotocky joined the religious order of the Basilians and was ordained a priest on November 24, 1940 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Saint Nicolas of Chicago on December 22, 1980. The Grand Archbishop of Lviv , Cardinal Jossyf Ivanovič Slipyj , consecrated him on March 1st of the following year; Co- consecrators were Basil Harry Losten , Bishop of Stamford , and Neil Nicholas Savaryn OSBM, Bishop of Edmonton .

On July 2, 1993, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
