Basil Harry Losten

Basil Harry Losten (born May 11, 1930 in Chesapeake City , Maryland , USA ) is Bishop Emeritus of Stamford .

Life

Basil Harry Losten was ordained a priest on June 10, 1957 by the Exarch Apostolic in the United States, Constantine Bohacewskyi , and he was incardinated in the clergy of the United States Apostolic Exarchate .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 15, 1971 titular bishop of Arcadiopolis in Asia and auxiliary bishop Philadelphia . He was ordained episcopal on May 25th of the same year by the Archbishop of Philadelphia , Ambrozij Andrew Senyshyn OSBM ; Co- consecrators were Michael Joseph Dudick , Bishop of Passaic , and Jaroslav Gabro , Bishop of Saint Nicolas of Chicago .

Paul VI called him on September 20, 1977. to the Bishop of Stamford; he was inducted into office on December 7th of the same year. On January 3, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
