The International Academy of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (AMP) is an Austrian conservatory with public rights in Vienna , which is committed to modern artistic and educational training paths in which interdisciplinarity plays a central role. It evolved from the JAM MUSIC LAB Conservatory for Jazz and Popular Music, which was founded in 2011, and is part of JAM MUSIC LAB GmbH based in Gasometer Music City in Vienna. The AMP offers state-recognized diploma courses for music and performing arts in all artistic and educational fields: Classical, musical, dance and musical theater, pop, rock and jazz - both as an artistic major and for instrumental (vocal) pedagogy (IGP) .

history

The International Academy of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (AMP) evolved from the JAM MUSIC LAB Conservatory for Jazz and Popular Music, founded in 2011, and is part of JAM MUSIC LAB GmbH based in Gasometer Music City in Vienna.

The Conservatory was founded in June 2011 by Marcus Ratka, Joe Valentin and Andy Bartosh. In November 2011, the Federal Ministry of Education, Art and Culture included it in the legal regulation for student grants for students at conservatoires, which enabled the students of the institute to receive scholarships and study grants under the Austrian Student Grant Act and to equate them with other students in this regard Austria took place. The public right was first granted in March 2012. In June 2014, the unlimited public right was granted. In January 2017 the institute was accredited as a private university and exists under the name JAM MUSIC LAB University for Jazz and Popular Music Vienna. At that time it was the 13th private university in Austria and, after the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna, the third private university for music.

The conservatory was renamed the International Academy of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (AMP) in 2019.

Course offer

The AMP offers diploma courses for music and performing arts in all artistic and educational fields: classical music, musical, dance and musical theater, pop, rock and jazz, both as an artistic major and for instrumental (vocal) education (IGP). Passing an entrance examination is a prerequisite for any degree. A preparatory course is offered to achieve this goal.
