The offer of the boarding high school is based on the upper third of grades 5 to 12. Classes with a maximum of 12 students are taught. The school participates in the nationwide central high school diploma.

Four times a year, written assessments are made for each subject and the parents are given the averages of each subject. Those are also posted in the school building and sorted according to performance. At the half-year and the end of the year there are certificates like at other schools.

Many of the classrooms have interactive whiteboards instead of chalkboards . Teaching or working materials can be accessed and edited via the school's internal wireless LAN in the student network.

In 2006 the Torgelow boarding school won a prize in the “ Germany - Land of Ideas ” competition.

Foreign language offer

In addition to English, French, Latin, Spanish, Russian and Chinese can be learned at school.

Schloss Torgelow is the only school in Germany to be a recognized "Internal Test Center" of the English Cambridge University for the acquisition of certificates ( Cambridge International Examinations ) in English. In the ninth grade, all students at the boarding school spend a third of the school year in England as part of the “European Classroom” project. They attend the " Kingham Hill School " near Oxford as regular boarding students .

In the upper school, the pupils have the opportunity to take part in a conference of the “ Model United Nations ” (THIMUN). The international simulation game is held annually with around 1,800 students from all over the world.

Together with the Humboldt Institute Germany, the program “A school year in Germany” is offered to children and young people from abroad.

At Torgelow Castle, young and old, girls and boys have their own living areas: the mentoring. As a rule, two students share a room. The mentors are in the restored castle, in the Yellow House and in several new buildings. The house from 5th to 7th Class is called House of the Future (HdZ). Each mentorat is active around the clock with two pedagogically trained mentors. A registered nurse is also there for the students. Six weekends in the school year are all organized together with events as boarding school weekends. All other weekends are optional home drive weekends. A bus service runs to and from Berlin and Hamburg on Friday and Sunday. For students who want to stay, various leisure activities are made, which can usually also be used during the week.
