"I'm just a normal boy That sank when I fell overboard My ship would leave the country But I'd rather swim ashore Without a life that's sadly stuck again Wish shy was much more masculine Maybe then I could learn to swim Like (fourteen miles away) Now floating up and down I spin, colliding into sound Like whales beneath be diving down I'm sinking to the bottom of my Everything that freaks me out The lighthouse beam has just run out I'm cold as cold as cold can be, be "

The second stanza is about the protagonist wanting help in the form of a piece of driftwood, because the coast guard does not save him. He screams for his life and describes how he is getting weaker and weaker. He wonders how to stop the end. Later he only floats in the water.

"Where is the coastguard? I keep looking each direction For a spotlight, give me something I need something for protection Maybe flotsam junk will do just fine The jets, I'm sunk, I'm left behind I'm treading for my life, believe me How can I keep up this breathing? Not knowing how to think I scream aloud, begin to sink My legs and arms are broken down With envy for the solid ground I'm reaching for the life within me How can one man stop his ending? I thought of just your face Relaxed and floated into space "

The last stanza says that the protagonist is awakened from his dream of the sun and he starts to wonder why he jumped off the ship in the first place. He later remembers that he has lost his great love and wishes to end his life.

The song is played from the perspective of a first-person narrator and is intended to allow the listener to see through the singer's eyes. The chorus says that the protagonist wants to swim away, but he can't because he doesn't know how. He just wants to be caught in a big wave and wants the rain of his feelings to fall from the sky.

“I wanna swim away, but don't know how Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean Let the waves up, take me down Let the hurricane set in motion Let the rain of what I feel right now come down Let the rain come down "

Effect of the song

The song is said to have saved several people from suicide solely because of its handling of the viola and the mandolin , as well as an honestly performed death wish of the protagonist in this song . Ryan Delahoussaye said that he loves the lyrics of the singer Justin Furstenfeld because they touch people's hearts, which also makes the mandolist proud. Singer Furstenfeld said that the opinion of the fans left him speechless, but he still wonders why he can't help himself to get rid of the suicidal thoughts, but if it works for the fans.
