Ugly Side (full title: Ugly Side: An Acoustic Evening with Blue October ) is the third live album and also the first unplugged album by the American rock band Blue October . It was released under the labels Up / Down and Brando Records . The producer is Jeremy Furstenfeld, who plays as drummer for Blue October. This is the brother of the singer Justin Furstenfeld .

Emergence

The songs were recorded during a sold out 3-day tour that ran through Houston , Austin and Dallas . These concerts took place from July 22nd to 25th, 2010. In Houston and Dallas, the band played two acoustic concerts in one evening. The band was planning an acoustic album back in 2004, but the first purely acoustic concerts took place in 2010. Due to the growing popularity of the band's acoustic concerts in their own fan ranks, Justin Furstenfeld decided to set up a national acoustic tour.

The official release date was set for April 26, 2011, but this date was postponed. Fans could pre-order the album in the band's webstore and received the CD on May 3rd. The official release date is May 10, 2011. The album is available as CD and download. The download version also includes the songs Schizophrenia ( Consent to Treatment ) and Jump Rope ( Approaching Normal ).

Songs

The album contains 11 songs from all previously released studio albums, with the exception of the song Colorado 5591 , which reflects the singer's impressions when this patient was in a mental hospital. 5591 represents his patient number.
