action

The immortal "shadow men", banished to earth eons ago for cosmic crimes, are responsible for many evils in the world. Full of hatred, they look for “The Tablet”, a page from the Book of Life that can open a huge vortex of energy , which serves as a portal to freedom. The only negative side effect of the Vortex: If it is used, it means the end of the world . The leader of the Shadow Men, Slate, learned that the tablet was recently excavated and found.

The legendary white warrior sees herself forced to act and converts Slate's best man, the Shadowman Os, after a fight. She instills love in him and so the former demon converts to the light side of power. He just manages to stop Slate, but the board breaks in two; one of them keeps Os, the other Slate. While the latter is now about to have his half of the table translated by a person, Os recruits the "elements", four people whose fate as human super warriors was predetermined even before they were born . However, since these four do not know anything about their destiny and lead a "normal" life, so to speak (soldier, policeman, thief and bodyguard), Os has to train them. In a first test, Os lets the elements hit the shadow men, since according to a prophecy they are the only ones who can kill them. As Os expected, the elements suffered a bitter defeat, although neither party succeeds in killing anyone from the other. So after one last, unsuccessful attempt by Slate to get the half of the table from Os, they part.

After long hours of training, in which the fighters, each of whom represents a magical element ( fire , water , air , metal ) have grown together, Os gives each of them a gift, bullets, with whose help they can destroy the shadow men. Both Slate and Os manage to translate the signs on the blackboard; both work with a photograph of the other half of the blackboard and thus experience the place where the vortex will open.

This leads to a decisive battle between good and evil, in which the elements prove what they have learned and ultimately defeat the shadow men, while Os pitches himself against Slate in a spectacular sword fight in a large dome . During a break in the fight, however, the latter surprised him with a trick, so that Os lost his half of the table and Slate was able to join both halves together. As the earth opens and the vortex appears, Slate threatens to ascend and use the portal. Os, however, clings to his old friend and tries to stop him. As Os tries, the elements at the edge of the vortex appear and fire Os, reminding him of what the White Warrior taught him.

In this way, Os draws new strength and uses the same method that the White Warrior once used to convince him. He sends love into Slate's heart, whereupon Slate, completely overwhelmed by emotion, falls to the ground and becomes mortal. The vortex closes and after a brief farewell Os attains redemption and leaves the earthly world.

Only the four elements remain, whose task it is now to bring the teachings of Os to the people.

Reviews

David Cornelius wrote in "Hollywood Bitchslap" that the film wouldn't be so bad if the actors' portrayals, the script and the stunts were better.

The editorial staff of TV Spielfilm ridiculed the “stupidity, stiff movement, wooden speech and acting ineptitude” as well as the “amateurish action” shown in the film.
