Ippesheim is a district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland-Palatinate , on the Nahe .

location

The place is about four kilometers northeast of Bad Kreuznach. Neighboring towns are the district of Planig , Biebelsheim , Gensingen and, on the opposite, near side, Bretzenheim .

history

Ippesheim was first mentioned in a document at the time of Henry II. According to this, a Franconian is said to have built a settlement here in the 9th or 10th century. It is still unclear where the name Ippesheim comes from.

On June 7, 1969, the previously independent Ippesheim , which had been part of the Alzey district since 1938 , and had previously belonged to the Bingen district since 1835, was incorporated into Bad Kreuznach as part of the Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform.
