history

The place Bosenheim was probably created at the time of the Franconian conquest . In a Lorsch deed of gift from the year 782 was u. A. called the place "Bosinesheim", which was designated by the historian Heinrich Eduard Scriba as the first documentary mention of Bosenheim. The first reliable mention of the place dates back to 1124, when the Archbishop of Mainz certified the donation of a church to Bosenheim by the Counts of Sponheim .

After the Sponheimers died out in the 15th century, Bosenheim was divided between several rulers until it fell to France in 1798 as a result of the coalition wars and to the Grand Duchy of Hesse after the Congress of Vienna (1815) .

From 1912 to 1953, Bosenheim was on the narrow-gauge overland tram Bad Kreuznach – St. Johann . Omnibuses replaced their traffic.

On June 7, 1969, the village gave up “self-government as a municipality” due to the administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate to the city of Bad Kreuznach , thus becoming a district with its own local advisory council and mayor . Previously, the village was part of the Bingen district in Rheinhessen , but moved to the Bad Kreuznach district as part of the reform.

The mayor is currently Volker Hertel (List of Faires Bad Kreuznach). With the "TuS 1886 Bosenheim", Bosenheim has a sports club with its own sports field and is the only one of the Bad Kreuznach districts to have its own swimming pool, which is maintained by the city.
