Irina Borisovna Schramko

Irina Borissowna Schramko ( Russian Ирина Борисовна Шрамко ; born January 22, 1961 in Charkow ) is a Soviet - Ukrainian early historian , archaeologist and university teacher .

Life

Schramko's father was the historian Boris Schramko , who identified the Bilsk ramparts as the capital of the Scythians Gelonos . Even as a schoolgirl, she took part in archaeological expeditions in the Kharkov and Poltava Oblasts . She graduated from the Donetsk State University in the Faculty of History in 1984.

From 1984 Schramko worked as a history teacher at the Kharkov School No. 89. From 1987 she headed the Archaeological Working Group of the Youth Palace of Kharkov Oblast (until 2008).

From 1987 Schramko led the archaeological expedition in the Bilsk ramparts, where they investigated the western fortifications. In 1995, she defended successfully her doctoral thesis about the blacksmith's trade with the tribes in the Vorskla - and Psel - the catchment area during the Scythian period for promotion to the candidate of historical sciences. Since 2000 she has carried out excavations in settlements of the Bronze Age , the Scythian Age and the Early and Late Middle Ages in and around Kharkov.

Schramko has been a member of the Historical-Archaeological Society of Kharkov Oblast since 1995 and a member of the management since 2005. From 2004–2011 she headed the Sloboschanske Archaeological Service of the Archaeological Security Service of Ukraine of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine .

In 2005, Schramko became a lecturer at the Chair of Historiography , Source Studies and Archeology of the Faculty of History of the National W. N. Karasin University of Kharkiv . She holds special lectures on the archeology of the early Iron Age in Europe, the problems of archaeological chronology, etc. From 2005 to 2011 she was a member of the field research committee of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She leads the archaeological internship on the Bilsk ramparts. Since 2012 she has been director of the Archeology Museum of the National University of Karasin in Kharkiv.
