The Irish Open is a golf tournament of the European Tour that is held annually. Since the tournament was first held in 1927, there have been several interruptions: because of the Second World War from 1940 to 1945 and because of financial problems in 1951, 1952 and from 1954 to 1975. Between 1963 and 1974, the Carroll's International was held instead of the Irish Open .
Since 2015, the tournament has been held in May with the name Dubai Duty Free Irish Open hosted by the Rory Foundation under the auspices of Rory McIlroy and at changing venues. It has been one of the eight tournaments in the Rolex Series since 2017 , and the prize money is seven million US dollars.
