Irmgard Vogelsang

Irmgard Vogelsang , b. Mergelmeyer (born November 1, 1946 in Borgloh ; † March 15, 2019 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

She was a trained banker and qualified secretary. In addition to her parliamentary work, she was a spokesperson on the board of trustees of the Lower Saxony state center for political education . She was the founder and chairwoman of the German-Polish Society in the Osnabrück region.

Vogelsang lived in Wallenhorst ( Hollage ), was married and had three children.

She was a member of the CDU since 1976 and since then has also been active in local politics. She was a council member of the Wallenhorst community for 15 years and a member of the Osnabrück district council for 17 years, as well as the state chairman of the women's union for 13 years .

From 1990 to 2008 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament, where she was secretary in the presidium. In addition, she was chairman of the cultural committee and spokeswoman for women's policy for the CDU parliamentary group. She sat on the Committee for Federal and European Affairs and the Media and was Deputy Chair there. She was also a deputy member of the Committee on Economy, Labor and Transport.
