Isabel Christina Soares (born March 24, 1983 in Avanca , Estarreja , Portugal ) is a Portuguese singer .

Live and act

She became known to the German audience through her participation in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 . Although her contribution Will My Heart Survive, produced by Dieter Bohlen , only came in sixth place, it reached higher chart positions than the winning title by Corinna May (produced by Ralph Siegel ). Soares' contribution was staged in the press as part of a duel between Bohlen and Siegel. Their second single Like Snow in June again reached the top 50 of the German sales charts.

Soares received special attention in 2002 through a television appearance on TV total , in which she threw the presenter Stefan Raab off concept through her aloof manner .

Soares lives in Hamburg . In 2005 and 2006 she played in the NDW musical Sternenhimmel (with trio drummers Peter Behrens and Miss Menke ; Hohe Berge).

In 2007 she played in the musical Westerland in the Delphi Showpalast in Hamburg, in 2008 and 2010 again in the subsequent musical Mandy in Love . In 2010 Soares joined the band Urbanize , a hip-hop trio that emerged from the casting program X Factor , as a singer . Until its dissolution in 2012 Isabel Soares recorded around a dozen songs, of which the track Rad der Zeit received the greatest media coverage. The corresponding album, however, was only released on the 7us label in September after the formation split up in 2012.

Isabel Soares also signed a record deal with this label in 2013. On September 20, the single Something About You was released there. On October 4th, the album Thousand Words was released , which contains very dance-pop-oriented tracks. With Something About You , she also entered the Top 100 of the German dance charts.
