It's Not Me, It's You is the second album by British pop singer Lily Allen . Most of it was recorded in 2008 at Eagle Rock Studios in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin , who was already involved in three songs on the debut album. Here he is also involved in all the songs as a songwriter.
To the album
Allen posted early versions of various songs on their MySpace page. The later single The Fear appeared as I Don't Know , while the ultimately more explicitly titled Fuck You appeared as Guess Who Batman , Get with the Brogram and then only GWB . The song Who'd Have Known had initially not allowed to appear on the album, because he too much the song Shine by Take That was like after the band had, however, given their permission, it did come for publication. In May 2008, Allen announced that the album would be out soon, but the label withheld the album so it wasn't released until February 2009.
The album was very successful commercially and immediately hit number 1 on the British charts when it was released, as well as in Australia . There were also high chart positions in the rest of the world, including the top 10 in the USA and the top 20 in Germany; in total, the album has sold more than 1.3 million times. The singles also proved to be very successful, with both The Fear and Not Fair becoming international hits. In addition, Fuck You (which did not appear everywhere because of its title) caused a sensation for its artistically acclaimed video of Arnaud & Clément . The song is about George W. Bush . Everyone accuses him of being racist and homophobic . The song also became known under the censored titles Guess Who Batman , Get With the Brogram or GWB .
The album was partly good, partly less well received by critics, some noted a certain tiredness and listlessness in everyone, but it was still said to have an ability to produce entertaining and biting pop songs.

Songs
- Piece 22 is about a 22-year-old woman whose future looks good. But now she's nearly 30 and losing sight of her life by going out every night and only having one-night stands instead of a boyfriend. The music video for this title was shot on June 1, 2009, and directed by Jake Scott.
- Chinese is about Allen's mother, He Wasn't There about her father, and Go Back to the Start about her sister. On Alright, Still was found with Alfie is a song about her brother, so now her whole family is sung.
