Ivan Janković (born January 24, 1995 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb since 2014 and has played with the club in the Austrian Ice Hockey League and International Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Ivan Janković began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at KHL Zagreb , for whose first team he played in the Croatian ice hockey league at the age of 16 . In the 2012/13 and 2014/15 seasons he also played for its city neighbor KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Austrian U20 league. Since 2015 he has played exclusively for Medveščak. In addition to individual appearances in the Continental Hockey League , he was mainly used in the second men's team in the Slovenian and Croatian leagues. In 2016 and 2017 he became Croatian champion with Medveščak . Since 2017 he has been playing with the club in the Austrian Ice Hockey League and with the second team in the International Hockey League .

International

For Croatia, Janković took part in the division II tournaments of the U18 World Championships in 2012 and 2013 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2013 in Division I and in 2014 and 2015 when he was the top scorer (together with his compatriot Luka Jarčov ), top scorer ( together with Jarčov and the Spaniard Oriol Rubio ) and with the best plus / minus balance of the tournament contributed significantly to the rise of the Croatians from group B to group A, participated in Division II.

In the senior division, he made his debut for the Croatian national team at the 2014 World Cup in Division I, in which he also played in 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
